Growing up, good memories of my Dad were rare; but nevertheless, he WAS my Dad, and I couldn't be more proud of him for his service to the country and fought to preserve our way of life. Dad was a father to the 4 of us, all are alive still, and have produced 7 grandkids. For those who have wondered about him and his family--we appreciate the hopes, prayers and support that was given to us over the years. We also thank all those who have kept the faith that he and others, would some day be brought home and laid to rest in peace. I have had the idea to build this site about my Dad for nearly a year; but I had no idea how to go about building one, nor did the timing seem right. It was not until the 9-11-01 attacks, did the need and desire to build this site became more important than ever. I strongly believe that a tribute about my Dad would give healing to those who have loved and missed him over the years. But it's also a tribute to those who have survived his passing as well. To share stories and memories about Michael L. Bouchard, would be cathartic to all who know him well; by celebrating his life, and to honor his memory. As PNOK (primary next-of-kin), I felt it was time to bring up the issues and hopes by the use of the Internet, and to provide resources and healing of other survivors, and to keep the memory of all those that serve this nation alive forever. The other reason I created this site was not just to have a tribute page only, but to encourage others to share stories/memories of their lost loved ones to wartime tragedies; not just Vietnam war, but all wars including the 9-11-01 attacks in NYC/DC. I would also encourage anyone to provide links to their own tribute sites, links to other sites for help/healing; and let others know about this site as well. :)
